KYA CLEAN HAI HUM! (How clean we are!)

Nearly 50 HB Kapadia students collect plastic pouches, kites, maaja strewn along the street near the school.
Apnu Amdavad (Your Ahmedabad) future scene to be clean and green, thanks to eagerness and sincerity of students to keep thieir neighhood spick and span. After AG School and MG Science College, students of HBK Memnagar on Saturday join AM cleanliness campaign to get rid of wastes strewn carelessly in vicnity.
They had a tough job for sure with Uttarayan just over-torn kites and twigs spread all over. But they did a commendable job. Nearly 50 classes VIII students took part in the hour-long campaign beating the morning chill. Split into four teams, they swept streets, dumped ripped kites, snapped threads, hazardous plastic pouches and bags in dustbin as well as spread the message of cleanliness.
A few students carrying placard with slogan like 'Go Green', 'Say no to plastic bags', 'Be holy and clean' went around the school's neighbourhood to make people aware of importance of cleanliness. Another group knocked on the doors of nearby houses and urged resident to abstain from littering and spitting on the road. They even asked domestic helps to keep their neighbourhood clean.
Two other teams involved themselves in collecting wastes from the street in front of the school. While one took care of the left stretch, the other focus on the right. Within half an hour the students filled up three thrashbins with kites, threads and polythene bags. There after, they swept the road.
Engrossed in the cleanliness drive, a few conscious students were heard discussing, "Only people can change the appearance of a city. Why don't we bother to make our city litter free?"
Yeachers of HB Kapadia were with thier students during the entire cleanliness drive. They motivated the pupils saying keeping the city clean is a step towars becoming a good citizen.
The young brigade's cleanliness drive drew attention of several passerby as well. A few of them even enquired if the campaign was open at all. "It will be fun to attend it", said one among them.
