Students of HBK. - (Memnagar, Primary English Medium) enthusiastically participated in various in house competitions recently. This not ensured a welcoming break from routine work, but even gave them a platform to showcase their talent. The competitions held include Salad Making Competitions, Waste to Wealth, Essay Writing Competitions and Craft Competition. It was amazing to see lovely creations of children out of waste.

R-day fervour
The 61st Republic Day was celebrated with great joy and fervour by city schools. The message that was passed on to the students on the day was that the destiny of the nation is built in the classrooms, and that teachers are their best guides, moulders and markers of the best human beings.
The schools which observed the Republic Day, among others, were Udgam School, Redbricks Junior School, HBK New High School, FD Higher Secondary School, Sri Sathya Sai Vidyamandir and Anand Niketan, satellite.Children enjoyed the flag-hoisting ceremony and the march-past and took part in various cultural programmes. they also took an oath to abide by the principles enshrined in the Constitution.

When kid's ruled Law Garden road
Fun and frolic was the order of the day for city children as Law Garden road blocked on Tuesday to provide them with an opportunity to enjoy various activities. Hosting the Street Smart event, titled Humsafar 2010, with the help of their partner HB Kapadia School, aproach gave arround 3000 children ownership of their city within city on the Republic day from 4pm to 7pm.
Children enjoyed dance workshops, magic show by Rahul Raj, songs by Shail Parikh and Pankaj Mistry, face painting of Rachana school teachers, dance performances by Rachana School, Samvedana, Tees Ka Dum, Sarjan and riverside School, besides street games byJust Smiles.
Talking to TOI, aProCh's Kiran Sethi said, " aProCh has organized 12 Street Smart events since August 2007 in partnership with Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation, city traffic police, schools and NGOs have touched over 40,000 children so far."
She added that HB Kapadia School had offered to support all street smart events for the year 2010, so the initiative has been named " Humsafar 2010".
HB Kapadia primary school principal Renu Sheth said, " The children enjoyed every moment and carried a beautiful message of ' serving for joy ' with them. With a hope that this way of humanity will bring in a sea change in our children, we will extend all possible support for this noble initiative".

HBK'ites shine once again
Almost 207 students from all the three branches including Memnagar, Prernatirth and HBK Competition held at HB Kapadia school recently. Of them, 10 students won Chitra Mitra Award and one made it for the prestigious mega top 10 Award. Students gave their wings to their imaginations and conveyed the universal message of love through the language of art.

Zeel, Puru triumph
Zeel Desai defeated Ashka Soni 6-2, 5-7, 6-1 to emerge champion in under 14 girls' AITA Talent Series at SRAG Courts at Thursday.
Zeel got off to a great start breaking Ashka twice in the first set to win it 6-2. But in the second set, Ashka made a comeback winning 7-5. However, Zeel got off her act right to win the third set 6-1 and with it the match.
In the under 14 boys' final, Puru Upadhyay thrashed Rual Mathew 7-6 (5), 3-6, 6-0.
